Have you ever been in Amsterdam? If so, you probably might know this typeface: it’s everywhere on the bridges, over the canals around the city.
Kurversbrug is actually an adaptation of the original type, probably designed by Anton Kurvers, a long long time ago. It was redesigned then by Retype, a digital type foundry based in Amsterdam, and now you can have it on your computer for your art works. It goes specially well on paper.
I came across this type recently, while working in a project here in Amsterdam, and I was actually thrilled when I was introduced to Kurverbrug. I do love those canals and bridges and I’m glad somebody has brought this typeface to life.
