Last weekend, I finally went with my husband to the new EYE Film in Amsterdam and I was impressed with the architecture.
EYE just opened last April and I’m so glad to have it in my city. The design of the building is so beautiful, as well as the interior. There’s a basement with a café with a really nice view of the water. Watching big ships sailing on the IJ river while waiting for your session to begin – not bad!
I went twice to the projection room n°1 and the screen and sound were nice, although I think the chair was not that comfortable. On the other hand, you can buy a glass of wine at the café and get in the projection room with it.
EYE is definitely a place to visit and spend some time. You can take a ferry to reach it, that makes the whole experience even nicer. If you live in Amsterdam and surroundings, you’ve got no excuse. If you’re just visiting the city, I strongly recommend it as well – a nice way to feel a bit local in the city. Movies have subtitles in Dutch, but the sound is usually the original one.
