Hi! I’m Aline Lickel, a visual designer based in Amsterdam. Every morning I start my day listening to good music and researching design references, online or at the real world. Here you can see what fascinates me. If you like it, drop me a line. I would love to hear from you. Enjoy! +

Even before moving to Amsterdam, I was already a fan of Amsterdamize. The website has a beautiful collection of bikes’ photographs and really nice articles celebrating the bike culture in the city.

The previous version of the website was really nice. Unfortunately, I don’t have this reference anymore, but the main colours used to be red and black and the logo had the triple “X”, which is the symbol of Amsterdam. However the new version is still cool. The main colours are gray and orange. This last one is, by the way, the national colour of Holland.

I like the fact that when you open the home page, there’s only two things written: “Amsterdamize” and “search”, all the rest is basically images and icons. The grid is also cool, it seems to be messy, but is perfectly divided in four parts. Moreover, the layout values pretty well the good photographs.

I would have only one complaint: I don’t like the fact that, on the header, clicking the main pictures doesn’t redirect you to the post they’re part of.

Anyway, it’s always a pleasure to browse this website. Enjoy!
